Over the easter weekend Lisgarvan Event took place in Ballon , Co. Carlow. Castle Crest took part in the Intro and after a consistent dressage came out with a score of 29.5 putting him into third place. In the show jumping he had one down adding 4 penalties to his score. Onward to the cross-country and he took things boldly to finish clear and an overall third place. An excellent result for his third outing. Keep an eye out for his next outing which may be Killmanahan.
CASTLE CREST, the only RID son of Coolcronan Wood and a full outcross to both King of Diamonds and Cloverhill lines.
His dam, a premium broodmare Another June Day is also the dam of RID stallion Moylough Bouncer.
His grandam, June Bud produced the RID stallion Holycross.
His grandsire, Sea Crest is a very prolific sire of successful horses such as Lenamore and Cruising
These lines make Castle Crest an attractive prospect for pure Irish Draught breeders as well as for those who wish to continue the great tradition of producing athletic Irish Sport Horses through a Draught Thoroughbred.
He brings with him good strong bone,
excellent conformation and the Irish Draught temperament, placid but fearless. He has plenty of presence and his movement is correct and true.
The weekend just gone Castle Crest competed in Drumiskin Event and finished 9th overall.
Last weekend Castle Crest competed in his first Intro event at Monart Co. Wexford. David Richards was on board and they will be at Barna Downs this Saturday and Drumiskin, Co. Louth the following saturday.
